Specifically for senior students who are looking to increase flexibility and strengthen their joints. My senior yoga classes in Phoenix are ideal to help you de-stress and re-align yourself!
Beginning Yoga Classes For Seniors
If you are new to yoga or haven’t practiced in awhile, this gentle class is an ideal way to move the body and calm the mind. By delivering clear, precise instructions and keeping the needs of my students in mind, I am able to provide a foundational yoga class perfect for beginners. The emphasis is on safety, proper alignment, and breath. Private yoga classes include centering, warm ups, and introduction to fundamental poses. This private yoga class is designed for students who want to increase their strength, improve flexibility, and relieve stress and tension.
Chair Yoga Classes For Seniors
Geared towards seniors or students with disabilities who are looking for a very gentle introduction to yoga. Chair classes can be done in a basic folding chair, dining room chair or wheelchair. Chair yoga is an effective way to improve your strength and flexibility in a way that can compliment your current medical interventions, therapies and exercises. Using a chair as a prop in a yoga class will help take the fear of falling out of the practice so students can gain the confidence needed to progress.
Yoga Classes For Seniors With Arthritis And Other Disabilities
I have experience in working with students who have Parkinsons Disease, Peripheral Neuropathy, Multiple Sclerosis and other disabilities. No matter where you are starting from, you will benefit from a well designed private yoga class. Yoga is a beneficial therapy that improves flexibility, strengthens posture, loosens tight or painful muscles, and builds your confidence. The symptoms of tremors, slowness of movement, stiffness, and trouble with balance will be eased with a well designed Yoga practice.
The first thing you will need is an experienced teacher who will start by assessing your current abilities and then mold a practice that safely starts where you are most comfortable. After the initial assessment, I will customize your practice with the use of props such as chairs, blocks, and straps that will contribute to a safe and achievable Yoga routine. Also, if it is not possible for you to start on the floor, then your practice can start in a chair; eventually your practice can gradually advance to floor work and later to standing work.
What’s Included In A Private Yoga Class:

Use of a variety of yoga props (block, straps, bolsters, blankets, mat, etc.)

Around the clock guidance beyond our primary session
